Wahida Sharman, OTR
Gyrotonic®, Gyrokinesis® and Pilates Personal Trainer

Wahida is the owner and inspiration behind EPY center. She has created, along with the help of her staff of trainers, a studio that is welcoming, professional and a delightful place in which  to workout.

Wahida has been an occupational therapist since 1988. She is an avid outdoors person who, due to her own personal injuries; found herself on a journey of healing and fitness that started with yoga in 1995 and eventually led to further training in exercise disciplines and then teaching and inspiring others. Wahida is dedicated to her continuing  education in Pilates, Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis®

With a strong foundation in anatomy and therapy, combined with her training in movement, Wahida is well-equipped to choose and analyze postures and she loves to create individualized programs for her clients.


Morgan Perry
Pilates Personal Trainer

Morgan is a native to the Sacramento Valley and has seven years of experience in Pilates personal training, working in several studios in Sacramento and Stockton. Her Pilates certification on the reformer, trapeze table, wunda chair, and mat work is from Infinite Dynamics  Master Trainer Christine Wilson.

Morgan has a wonderful understanding of body mechanics and works to help her clients break habits in their bodies that result in greater core strength and flexibility. She is also a certified massage therapist and rain drop therapy practitioner. 

Morgan is currently studying at the Canadian College of Osteopathy to become an Osteopath.. 

 


Holly Thompson, BS, BA
Pilates Personal Trainer

Holly is a UC Davis graduate with a double major in evolution/ecology and art studio.  She started Pilates in 1993 while she was ice-skating competitively.  She trained under Polestar Pilates founder Brent Anderson, PT for two years and she is also certified in mat instruction from Polestar Pilates. Additionally, Holly received her apparatus training from Chrissy Sheeper.  She has been teaching clients Pilates since 2001.   Holly recently received Pilates certification from the Pilates Method Alliance.   In addition to training clients in Pilates, Holly also teaches ice-skating, inline skating, and hockey and she also  plays ice hockey regularly.



Kathy Ward, BS
Personal Pilates Trainer

Kathy comes to EPY with a diverse background in athletics. In 1995 Kathy qualified at the Olympic trials for the marathon. She was also the cross-country masters runner of the year for the Pacific Association of USA Track and Field. Her other love is sailing. She is a multiple time national and world champion in Hobie Cat 16 sailing. Kathy started Pilates in 1995 and received her Pilates mat certification from the Physical Mind Institute. She then pursued her Pilates apparatus training with Tom McCook in Mountain View. She has focused her work in the Ron Fletcher Method of training and is available for private and semi-private sessions.


Amanda Wilkinson MA-ADTR
Gyrotonic® and Pilates Personal Trainer

Amanda Wilkinson, brings over 25 years of movement studies to her practice as a certified Gyrotonic® trainer.   In a former phase of life, she studied, choreographed and performed ballet and modern dance with numerous dance artists in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. 

Currently, Amanda teaches Gyrotonic®, Yoga and Pilates, and is a registered Dance/ movement Therapist with the American Dance Therapy Association.   Before moving to Sacramento, she taught Gyrotonic® and Pilates at Mari Winsor’s studio in Los Angeles.   She also taught Yoga for cancer patients in Santa Monica and apprenticed with renowned yoga instructor Erich Schiffman.  She has worked as a Dance/movement Therapist in psychiatric treatment facilities, creating innovative expressive movement programs for troubled adolescents, adults and elderly patients. Amanda received her Master’s Degree in Dance Therapy at UCLA, and holds a BFA in Dance from California Institute of the Arts. 


Shawn Donovan
Gyrotonic® Personal Trainer

 A Sacramento native, Shawn has been into movement since she was a little girl.  She began with ballet at four years of age and expanded her athletic pursuits from there with track & field, bowling, baseball.

She found great satisfaction and accomplishment in competitive gymnastics as a teenager. Shawn even boasted her very own balance beam!   She also loves windsurfing and jumping on her trampoline which claims a glorious spot in her backyard.

Shawn was instantly hooked on Gyrotonic® after her first exposure. She claims “I took one look at a Gyrotonic® tower and knew that it was for me. I can see myself using Gyrotonic® movement for the rest of my life. I feel very passionate about this fantastic system of exercise. Training clients in something in which I so strongly believe is one of the best things that I can imagine.”
Shawn is certified in the Gyrotonic® Expansion System and Gyrotonic® for Golfers.




Megan Soske
Certified Pilates Personal Trainer

A competitive rider for her entire life, Megan began taking Pilates to improve her riding. Tight and unbalanced muscles inhibited her performance, and through Pilates she transformed her body and now competes at a new level. She considers the understanding she achieved through overcoming her own musculature and posture challenges to be one of her greatest assets when teaching others.

Megan Soske is certified by Balanced Body University (BBU) in Pilates Mat and Reformer work. She received her apparatus training from Tom McCook, of BBU and the Physical Mind Institute, and is currently completing her apparatus certification. She continues to take workshops around the country and to explore alternative systems, such as the Franklin Method.

Megan has competed and coached others in western (reining), equitation, combined training (preliminary level) and dressage (currently riding 3rd level).



Marlynn Mahmoudi
Certified Pilates Personal Trainer

Marlynn is a student at CSUS majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science and Rehabilitation. She hope to get her physical therapist license and use Pilates to rehabilitate her patients. Marlynn has been teaching and practicing Pilates since 2005 and joined EPY Center in 2007.

Marlynn teaches classical Pilates as well as other universal techniques. She encourages correct posture and alignment as well as correct usage of breath. She wants her clients to get in touch with their core and learn to appreciate what their bodies can do for them!



Johanna Janes

Gyrotonic® Personal Trainer

Johanna was introduced to the Gyrotonic Expansion System two years ago when she was recovering from a car accident. The system allowed her to heal from her injury and also to improve her posture, core strength, flexibility and coordination. She loves the way the system creates movement that is fluid, three dimensional and functional. Johanna shares these fabulous experiences with her clients. Johanna is certified in the Gyrotonic® Tower and has completed her pre-training in Gyokinesis®.

 



Okmi Parks
Gyrotonic® and Pilates Personal Trainer

Okmi is one of EPY Center’s certified Pilates and Gyrotonic® trainers.  She has experience in various art forms of dance and movement. Okmi is also a certified massage therapist and her practice employs a range of body work methods, from the western to eastern styles.  Okmi received her training in Pilates at the Physical Mind Institute.

 



Suzanne Rogers 
Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® Personal Trainer

Suzanne grew up in Las Vegas. In childhood, Suzanne studied ballet, tap, gymnastics and ice skating; cementing a love of movement.  She became a certified aerobics instructor during law school and taught aerobics for eight years. Suzanne’s current athletic pursuits are many and include:   running, skiing, skating, tennis and biking, along with Pilates, weight training, Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis®.

Her personal path to heal injuries developed after running marathons and having children brought her to Wahida for Pilates in 2003.  Wahida later introduced her to Gyrotonic®.  Suzanne fell in love with the Gyrotonic® system which healed her injuries and inspired her to start her own instructor training in December 2004. Suzanne recently completed her certification in Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis®. Suzanne says:  “Training Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® as well as enjoying my own personal practice with other EPY center trainers keeps my busy family life and legal career in balance.”

Suzanne attended Pomona College (BS Mathematical Economics ‘85) and McGeorge Law School (JD ‘88).
